What is it about?
Bringing the Studio Home is a review of the different exercises done in the studio course but adapted for the home by using props. It includes a review of the teaching methods, movement concepts and how the studio exercises are connected to the Polestar Pilates Principles, movement categories and fitness screening.
Why is it useful?
Practicing the movements at home and in an unfamiliar environment (compared to on the Pilates studio equipment) is good for muscle memory which will improve the quality of the exercises when done back in the studio.
It will help promote a greater understanding of the exercises which is vital for problem solving during case studies and working with real life clients.
It is essential for understanding the connection between movement and the fitness screening exercises to understand why some exercise formats/variations are more applicable to a client than others.
How will we go about this?
By using commonly accessed exercise props we can recreate movements and shapes from the studio repertoire. Participants will learn to demonstrate and how to teach the exercises to a client.
Participants will also have the opportunity to practice the moves with feedback and discussions on the different exercises and their relationship with different pieces of equipment (orientation, progressions, regressions etc).
What will you need?
Suggested Accessories: foam roller, 2 x Resistance bands, a small Pilates ball, Magic circle/Pilates ring, and a large fit ball.

- PRE-REQ: Studio/Rehab Graduates or Studio/Rehab Students that are preparing for their exam. Student must at least have completed Studio Intermediate. Note: This workshop will have references to exercises from Foundation-Advanced 2.
