Intentional Touch for the Pilates teacher (8hours)
16 Nov 2019 (8hrs) – 9am-6pm Venue: MySoul Pilates, Shanghai
In this workshop we will have a close look and feel on how, where and when we touch in Pilates and what impact we have on body structures and all layers of the individual. Corrective, positioning and guiding touch are the Polestar categories. We will add more tools, like restoring, assessing and balancing touch as it appears in the environment of Pilates in individual but also group class settings. Scoliosis (8hours)
17 Nov 2019 (8hrs) – 9am-6pm Venue: MySoul Pilates, Shanghai
Enhance practical knowledge of scoliosis from early age through adulthood and the accompanying pathologies, limitations and co-morbidities. Learn to identify what is and is not important when assessing movement of individuals with scoliosis. We will use the Polestar Principles and Polestar Pilates exercises to aid in interventions and to improve function. Discussion will include a review of practical applications of Pilates exercises for both corrective and facilitative approaches to treating scoliosis.

- Pre reqs-if any: Successful completion of the Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Series OR a comparable comprehensive Pilates teacher training; OR licensed medical or rehabilitation professional (MD, PT, OT, DO, RN, Bach Sp Sc/Hmn Mvt, Bach App Sc) Mat and/or Comprehensive Education
