The full series comprises Principles of Movement and Studio/Rehab 1 to 6, taken in the following order: Principles of Movement, Studio/Rehab 1, Studio/Rehab 2, Studio/Rehab 3, Studio/Rehab 4, Studio/Rehab 5, Studio/Rehab 6. Successful completion of the series enables participants to sit the Studio or Rehab Comprehensive Exam.

The course opens with Principles of Movement, taught in person, where you experience and apply the theories of movement that lay the foundation for Polestar Pilates — breath, alignment, mobility, control and movement integration. This material lays the groundwork for all movement analysis, teaching and client programming that follows, and is the prerequisite for every module after it.

The practical modules build the Pilates repertoire across the apparatus, together with client assessment using the Polestar Assessment Tool, programme design, cueing, and work with special populations. Studio and Rehab students attend the course modules together; the Rehab course follows a specific track for physical therapists and medical professionals who wish to incorporate Pilates into their clinical practice.

Access to the Polestar online material is included in your course fee, subject to a validity period — please see our terms and conditions. The Polestar Principles of Movement book by Dr Brent Anderson is the reading material for the Principles module and is purchased separately.
