Directors Corner

Dawnna Wayburne

Hi Polestar friends,

Have you been enjoying your summer? Because we sure have! We (and quite a few Polestar Asia people) had a great time at the Polestar International Conference in San Diego - the Polestar International Conferences keep getting better and better.

If your clients are anything like me they will have spent the summer swimming, cycling and mountain climbing. If they're anything like my friend Jack, they'll come back after having spent most of their time taking it very easy on the beach somewhere in Thailand or Hawaii.  Either way, they return to their classes needing a little different attention from us as instructors than before. The "Jacks" will benefit from going back to basics so as to refamilairize themselves with the details of the Pilates work that are so intrinsic to successful movement. People like me are looking to maintain the summer tone that I'm now so proud of.  This is an excellent time for you to open up your "creativity tool box" and pull out some challenging modifications to the regular repertoire. A lot of the advanced classical moves are great to teach your fit clients as well as adding props to the more elementary variations. It's worth the effort- they'll love that you've taken the time to re-work their program.

For those in Hong Kong, we have set our dates for the next round of exams. They will be held on the 3/4 Dec 2011 - send in your Exam application form if you wish to be examined. Please see the course schedule or e mail us for more information.

Lastly, as always we remind all graduates to complete their CECs as needed for qualification renewal and to get their renewal applications in on time. Check with your host (or with us) about CEC activities planned and how to apply for renewal. Read on and catch up with the latest Polestar news!

We hope to catch up with you on a Polestar course/workshop soon!

Best wishes,
Dawnna
